Suitcases for Change

I recently did an illustration for an article about an inspiring 10 year old girl.  Her sister, a social worker, told her about foster children having to move around multiple times in their lives without a suitcase to hold their few belongings.  The children would use trash bags and whatever else they could find as they tried to find a permanent home.  The young girl set a goal to raise 300 suitcases to give to local foster children by the end of summer.  She surpassed her goal and by the end of the first year 4,000 suitcases were collected.  Ultimately her creative solution to a problem became an international non-profit organization.

Starbucks

There was a need to identify the Starbucks workers at the Boonsboro Virginia location and an idea was born that was slightly more ambitious than name tags.  I drew pictures of the baristas and displayed them as different coffee bags describing each as an individual blend.  All are displayed so that they appear to be sitting on a shelf for the customers' viewing pleasure.

A fun little project that is not entirely website worthy but just perfect for the ol' blog...Brew some coffee and enjoy!
